Savannah State's Arnold Louis has earned the StatSheet MEAC Player of the Week for the week ending February 11th. StatSheet's MEAC Freshman of the Week goes to Deron Powers from Hampton. And finally, Hampton's Ramon Mercado takes home StatSheet's MEAC 6th Man of the Week.

Louis led all of the MEAC in scoring (20.0 pts per game). He also put up big numbers in both shooting (50%) and rebounding (12.5 per game). The Savannah State senior put these numbers up in a win against South Carolina State and a loss to Hampton.

Louis topped all scoring and rebounding for the Tigers with 26 points and 10 rebounds in a 71-68 loss to Hampton. He followed that up by leading the team in scoring and rebounding with 14 points and 15 rebounds in a narrow 50-46 victory against South Carolina State.

This is the first time this season that Arnold Louis has been named StatSheet MEAC Player of the Week. The runner-up this week is Howard senior Mike Phillips. Honorable mention goes to Jeremy Ingram, a junior from North Carolina Central. Marques Oliver was the highest ranking player from Delaware State, finishing 16th.

StatSheet MEAC Freshman of the Week: Hampton's Deron Powers

Deron Powers averaged 38 minutes of playing time while starting both games for Hampton. His averages in scoring (14.5 pts per game), assists (4.0 per game), and shooting (60.0%) were the best among all MEAC freshmen. In a 59-53 win over Coppin State, Powers topped the Pirates in scoring with 14 points and tossed in 5 assists. Following that in a thin 71-68 win against Savannah State, he led scoring with 15 points and rebounding with 8.

Deron Powers has won the StatSheet MEAC Freshman of the Week an astounding 3 times. The runner-up is Rashid Gaston from Norfolk State. Ke`Ron Brown from Hampton takes honorable mention.

StatSheet MEAC 6th Man of the Week: Hampton's Ramon Mercado

Ramon Mercado, a junior and a 6-4 guard, averaged 28 minutes over the two games for the Pirates. In the win over Coppin State, Mercado added 3 points and 4 rebounds. During the win over Savannah State, he racked up 10 points and 5 rebounds.

This is the first StatSheet MEAC 6th Man of the Week win for Ramon Mercado. Jarvoris Bryant, a senior forward from Bethune-Cookman, is runner up. Muhammad Abdul-Aleem, a junior guard from Florida A&M, receives honorable mention. Delaware State has yet to win StatSheet MEAC Player of the Week.
