Michigan is the new number one team in the country, removing Duke who drops to #5.

Michigan grabs the number one ranking following a week in which they first got a victory at home against Purdue, 68-53. After that came another win at Illinois, 74-60. Duke gives up number one with a win against Maryland, 84-64 and a loss to then-25th ranked Miami (FL), 90-63. San Diego State enters the Top 25 at #22 with a win at Nevada, 78-57 and an upset win at home over then-15th ranked New Mexico, 55-34. Marquette comes in at #25 with a win against Providence, 81-71. Virginia Commonwealth drops out of the Top 25 this week with an upset loss at Richmond, 86-74 and an upset loss at home to La Salle, 69-61. Notre Dame drops out after a win against South Florida, 73-65 and a loss to Georgetown, 63-47.

Miami (FL) is a big mover this week to #14 after an upset win at home over then-1st ranked Duke and a win at home over Florida State, 71-47. Minnesota tanked 11 spots to #23 after losses to Wisconsin, 45-44 and Northwestern, 55-48.
